Four New Virfac® Products are Now Available

TROY, Mich., May 30, 2017 - GeonX is expanding their offering of Virfac® products available via the Altair Partner Alliance. Additive Manufacturing, Welding Scheduler, Friction Stir Welding, and Crack Propagation Lifetime are now available. Virfac® is used by engineers around the world to simulate welding, additive manufacturing, machining, heat treatment and damage resistance in various industries including aeronautics, automotive, naval and nuclear.
GeonX has found great value in their partnership with Altair thus far. The Partner Alliance exposes its partners to untapped markets, assists them in opening new accounts and supports them with marketing collateral, international events and promotion.

“After two years of fruitful partnership with Altair, GeonX has decided to enhance this collaboration by including its entire portfolio in the Altair Partner Alliance,” said Laurent D’Alvise, CEO & Co-founder of GeonX. “In addition to welding, heat treatment and machining simulations using Virfac®, the Altair clients will now be able to run friction stir welding, crack propagation and additive manufacturing simulations without any incremental costs. The partnership with Altair provides industrial users another flexible way to access GeonX's powerful software products.”

Altair customers have found great value in having Virfac® manufacturing simulation software in the APA. “As we push the boundaries of design, materials and manufacturing process, there is a great need to understand dimensional and property deviation to make quality products,” said Ravi Kunju, VP Manufacturing Solutions - solidThinking at Altair. “The simulation suite from Virfac®, which is now available through the Altair Partner Alliance, greatly helps our customers to virtually verify and correct property deviations before they occur. The suite covers both traditional and additive manufacturing and weld path optimization to minimize distortion. It also helps in identifying propagation of cracks due to fatigue loads. GeonX is an extremely valuable partner and provides great value to HyperWorks users in their simulation driven design and manufacturing.”
