Designing and Fabricating a Metallic Component by Additive Manufacturing
Hands-On Workshop Workshop participants will learn the fundamentals of AM processes for metals as well as key considerations when designing a metal component to be fabricated using AM. The workshop will provide a hands-on experience for each participant to design, fabricate, and measure test parts with a variety of state-of-the-art AM equipment and design software. Final part designs will be compared to the original part design from a performance, fabrication and cost perspective. Who Should Attend This hands-on workshop is aimed towards engineers, designers and technicians who have several years of experience designing and fabricating components using traditional manufacturing methods (eg. casting, forming, forging, molding). Participants should be in a position to introduce AM design and fabrication into their respective organizations. Course Format
  • 3 day (09h00 to 17h00 each day)
  • Instructor led by Altair and Renishaw technical experts
  • Presentation and hands-on format
  • One student to a computer
